Swiss investor Jacobs Holding has snapped up UK dental chain Southern Dental from its founder in its third attempt at a sale, two sources familiar with the situation said.

Southern Dental will initially be run independently from Nordic dental chain Colosseum Smile, which Jacobs acquired earlier this year.

Souther Dental’s founder Mazdak Eyrumlu will be exiting the business as part of the transaction.

DC Advisory advised the owner on the process, as reported. PwC and Pinsent Masons advised Jacobs.

Southern Dental owns 80 dental practices in the south of England with its headquarters in Crawley, West Sussex. It was founded in 2006 by Mazdak Eyrumlu.

Southern Dental could not be reached for comment. Jacobs declined to comment.
